Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

Unsaved (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website unsaved.io and the Unsaved browser extension. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist: your email address and the source of your signup (e.g. which page you signed up from).

When you create an account: your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you use social login (Google, GitHub, X), we receive your public profile information from that provider.

When you use Unsaved: your bookmarks (URLs, titles, content, tags, collections, notes), search queries, and usage patterns. We also collect AI-generated data such as summaries, auto-tags, and embeddings derived from your bookmarks.

Automatically: IP address, browser type, device information, and page views for analytics and security purposes.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide the Unsaved service (save, organize, search, and resurface your bookmarks)
  • Process your bookmarks with AI (summarization, tagging, semantic search, clustering)
  • Send you Daily Review digest emails (if you opt in)
  • Improve our service based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
  • Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and product announcements

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with advertisers.

AI processing

All AI processing (embeddings, summaries, tagging, search, RAG) runs on European servers. Your bookmark content is processed by AI models hosted in the EU. We do not send your data to non-European AI providers.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union. We use EU-hosted infrastructure for both our database and AI processing.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all your personal data and bookmarks within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Your rights

You can at any time:

  • Access your data through your account dashboard
  • Export all your bookmarks and data in standard formats
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Correct your personal information in your account settings

If you are in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Resend (EU) for transactional emails (Daily Review, account notifications)
  • Cloudflare for CDN and DDoS protection on our landing page
  • Social login providers (Google, GitHub, X) if you choose to sign in with them

Children

Unsaved is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a notice on our website.
